Howdy y'all! Today we're talking about one of my absolute favorite events in Houston - the Houston Rodeo! For those who aren't familiar with the Houston Rodeo, it's a massive event that takes place each year at NRG Stadium, attracting visitors from all over the state and beyond. The rodeo itself features a variety of different competitions, including bull riding, barrel racing, and steer wrestling, and the cowboys and cowgirls who compete are some of the best in the business. Ofcourse, there's the cutest competition of all - the Mutton Bustin' which features little kiddos riding on the backs of sheep. Similar to bull riding, the goal of mutton bustin' is for the child to stay on the back of the sheep for as long as possible while the animal runs around a small section of the rodeo arena.
But what really sets the Houston Rodeo apart is the atmosphere. There's just something special about the energy and excitement that fills the stadium during the rodeo events, with the cheers of the crowd and the sounds of the animals and performers all coming together to create a truly unforgettable experience.
One of the best parts of any event is the food, and the Houston Rodeo does not disappoint in this department. From classic rodeo fare like funnel cakes and corn dogs to more unique offerings like deep fried treats and turkey legs, there's something to satisfy any craving.
